The process

Four steps, then it's with us

Who's buying

You, and your partner or co-buyer if there is one. Name, email, phone, date of birth.

What you're after

The development and the house type or number you have your eye on, plus how you're funding it.

Your documents

Proof of funds and proof of address. Mortgage AIP and photo ID if you have them.

Your solicitor

If you've appointed one. If you haven't yet, say so; that's a perfectly normal answer.

Your information

Looked after, and only used for your purchase

  • Only our sales team see it. Your documents are stored encrypted and can be read by you and by authorised Forkin Earls staff. They are never shared with other buyers or with any other agent.
  • We only need what confirms your position. A statement showing your name, your address and the balance is enough, and you're welcome to redact individual transactions before you upload it.
  • You can update it any time. If your approval in principle is renewed, or you appoint a solicitor later, log back in and change it. We'll pick up the update automatically.
  • You can ask us to delete it. Once your purchase completes, or you let us know you're no longer looking, we'll remove your file.

Before you start, it helps to have

  • A recent bank statement or your AIP letter (PDF or a clear photo)
  • A utility bill or bank statement from the last 6 months
  • Your co-buyer's date of birth and mobile number
  • Your solicitor's firm and email, if you have one
